2025 Fantasy Outlook
In his fourth season in the NBA, Landale failed to make any significant strides, averaging 4.8 points and 3.3 rebounds in 11.9 minutes per game, appearing in just 42 regular-season games. With Houston loading up its frontcourt, Landale was moved to Memphis, where he could see a slight uptick in minutes, at least until both Jaren Jackson and Zach Edey are healthy. With that said, Landale is, for the most part, going to be nothing more than a depth piece on a team looking for redemption. He could spend a lot of time on the bench, and will likely struggle to be a consistent part of the rotation, assuming the team can stay healthy, something it has struggled to do over the past two years. Out at least two more weeks
The Hawks announced Thursday that Landale (ankle) is progressing in his rehabilitation and will be re-evaluated in approximately two weeks.
ANALYSIS
Landale missed the final five games of the regular season after suffering a right high-ankle sprain April 1, and his updated timeline for a re-evaluation essentially ensures that he'll remain out for the first round of the playoffs. In Landale's absence, the Hawks will rely on Mouhamed Gueye and Tony Bradley to fill backup minutes behind starting center Onyeka Okongwu.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2023
2022
After a relatively strong showing during his second season in the NBA, Landale landed a three-year deal with the Rockets. He served as the backup behind Deandre Ayton during the 2022-23 season, averaging 6.6 points and 4.1 rebounds in 14.2 minutes per game. He is likely to see a similar role in Houston, playing behind Alperen Sengun. Landale suffered an ankle injury in the lead-up to the FIBA World Cup, ruling him out of the competition. Although there are still two months until the start of the regular season, there is a chance he is not available for the start of training camp, at the very least. With that said, it should not delay his Rockets debut too much, meaning managers should get a good look at his role. Unless the team opts to utilize him as a floor-spacing five, affording him at least 22 minutes per night, he is not going to be a standard league asset.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Without timetable for return
Landale is progressing in his rehab from a high right ankle sprain but remains without a clear return timeline for the Hawks, the team announced Thursday.
ANALYSIS
Landale will be reevaluated in approximately two weeks, putting his availability for the remainder of Atlanta's first-round series against the Knicks in serious doubt depending on how long the series extends. Landale suffered the injury after a hard foul from Goga Bitadze earlier this month, an incident that sparked a skirmish and added to Atlanta's frontcourt concerns. With his potential absence looming, the Hawks may need to lean more heavily on depth options behind Onyeka Okongwu, such as Mouhamed Gueye and Tony Bradley.
