2025 Fantasy Outlook
Suggs was in the midst of his best season before a knee injury ended his season after just 35 appearances. The Magic as a whole dealt with significant injuries, especially to Paolo Banchero and Franz Wagner, which forced Suggs into a bigger role. The sizable spike in usage led Suggs to average 16.2 points and 2.2 threes on 41/31/88 shooting, 4.0 rebounds, 3.7 assists, 1.5 steals and 0.9 blocks in 28.6 minutes. His turnover rate (2.9) and efficiency are still sticking points, but he often made up for it with his All-Defensive play. Suggs' biggest improvement on offense was creating for himself and getting to the basket, where he finished well and often drew fouls. This season, Suggs will likely go back to playing a secondary offensive role. Banchero and Wagner will be starting the campaign healthy, while the team replaced Kentavious Caldwell-Pope with Desmond Bane over the summer. That makes Suggs the fourth-most talented offensive option in the starting five - and by a significant margin. Fantasy managers can still select Suggs in the top 100 with hopes of an efficient offensive season coupled with elite defensive stats, but there looks to be a hard ceiling on his upside this year. Closes with six stocks
Suggs closed Sunday's 116-94 loss to Detroit in Game 7 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs with six points (2-9 FG, 0-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT), four rebounds, four assists, two blocks and four steals over 36 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Suggs got to work on the defensive end, tallying six combined steals-plus-blocks. However, it was a different story on the offensive end, where he scored just six points, finishing in single digits for the third time in the past four games. Sunday's Game 7 loss brings to an end what was a disappointing season for the Magic, due in large part to the fact that injuries were a constant issue. Suggs continues to be one of the best defensive guards in the league, although he certainly wasn't immune to injuries, missing a total of 25 regular-season games.

Coming off easily his best season to date, Suggs will be looking to establish himself as an elite defensive point guard on a team with playoff aspirations. After playing fewer than 55 games in each of the two previous campaigns, Suggs logged 75 games last year, allowing him to develop a somewhat consistent offensive game. He closed as the 100th-ranked player in nine-category leagues, averaging 12.6 points, 3.1 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.4 steals, 0.6 blocks and 2.0 three-pointers on 47.1 percent from the floor and 75.6 percent from the line. It appears as though Suggs will open the 2024-25 season as the starting point guard, playing alongside newly acquired Kentavious Caldwell-Pope. Although he still has both Anthony Black and Cole Anthony to contend with, Suggs' impact on the defensive end should give him first crack. Playing as a lead facilitator could see his assist numbers get closer to 5.0 per game, boosting his overall appeal. With that said, it's hard to see him developing into a high-volume scorer, limiting his ceiling. Considering both sides of the equation, managers are well within their rights to target Suggs in the ninth or tenth round, as a sneaky source of steals, assists and threes.

Mosley not too concerned
Magic coach Jamahl Mosley said Sunday that he's not too concerned about Suggs' latest groin issue, Jason Beede of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
ANALYSIS
"When he went for that block at the rim I think he just might have tweaked it a little bit, but he'll be OK," Mosley said. Suggs was held out against the Rockets on Sunday, but it sounds like he'll be day-to-day going forward. Suggs has been trending up over his last five appearances, posting averages of 14.8 points, 4.4 rebounds, 4.4 assists, 1.4 steals, 0.4 blocks and 2.2 three-pointers in 24.9 minutes per contest.
