2025 Fantasy Outlook
DeRozan remains a certified bucket getter, averaging at least 20 points per game in 12 straight seasons with four different teams. However, the rest of his game regressed in 2024-25, as he posted 4.4 assists (fewest since 2016-17), 3.9 rebounds (fewest since 2012-13) and 0.8 steals (fewest since rookie season in 2009-10). While DeRozan changed teams ahead of last season, he ended the campaign handling a similar role to his time in Chicago, sharing usage with Zach LaVine, a playmaking center (formerly Nikola Vucevic, now Domantas Sabonis) and a microwave scorer (formerly Coby White, now Malik Monk). The Kings also don't have a true starting point guard, though free-agent acquisition Dennis Schroder could earn that role eventually. They also swapped Jonas Valanciunas for Dario Saric and drafted two rookies who could carve out roles right away - Nique Clifford and Maxime Raynaud. The depth changes won't impact DeRozan's bottom line, and the same core that ended 2024-25 will return in 2025-26. He finished as the 51st player in eight-category leagues last season, his first time outside the top 40 since 2014-15, when he appeared in a career-low 60 regular-season games. However, heading into his age-36 campaign, the veteran has been healthy and heavily utilized, appearing in at least 74 regular-season games and averaging at least 36 minutes a night in four straight seasons. DeRozan is a go-to offensive player in Sacramento, but his days of all-around production may be sporadic. Read Past Outlooks

After three seasons with the Bulls in which he earned two All-Star nods, DeRozan was sent to the Kings in a sign-and-trade over the summer. The 35-year-old has been a steady source of early-to-mid-round fantasy value for a decade, boosted by his relatively strong track record of health. Last season was no exception, as DeRozan played 79 games and averaged 24.0 points, 5.3 assists, 4.3 rebounds and 1.1 steals in 37.8 minutes. He's also maintained or increased his three-point volume across four straight seasons, taking 2.8 triples last year and making them at 33.3 percent. That's a part of his game that may need to take another step forward playing in Sacramento. Domantas Sabonis is not the floor spacer that Nikola Vucevic is, and DeRozan will probably handle the ball less while ceding touches to De'Aaron Fox. The dynamic between the team's three stars isn't easy to predict. Will DeRozan be the clear No. 3 option? Will he take touches and assists away from Sabonis, who has been a triple-double machine? Is Fox going to be asked to do a little bit less? Either way, it wouldn't be surprising to see DeRozan hit recent lows in points and assists on a better team with an established duo. There's more risk in drafting DeRozan this year given that dynamic and his age, but he should still be a solid option in the middle of most fantasy drafts.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Linked to Miami
DeRozan has been linked with the Heat, according to Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel and Sam Amico of HoopsWire.
ANALYSIS
The Kings are expected to buy out DeRozan's contract for the 2026-27 season, as he's owed $25 million, and that would make him eligible to sign with any team in the league. The Heat are expected to be interested in the 36-year-old wing if he hits the open market. He might not be the explosive player he once was. However, he's certainly a player capable of scoring at a high level and creating his own shot, something the Heat will need in an offense anchored by Giannis Antetokounmpo, who dealt with numerous injuries last season, and Bam Adebayo.
