Buddy Boeheim

Jackson Thomas "Buddy" Boeheim was born in November of 1999 and grew up in Fayetteville, New York. He is the son of Juli and Jim Boeheim. His father Jim is a Hall of Fame basketball coach at Syracuse, where he coached both Buddy and his brother Jimmy. Buddy's sister, Jamie, played college ball at Rochester. Boeheim started his high school playing days at Jamesville-DeWitt High School in Dewitt, New York. As a junior (2016-17), Boeheim posted 26.3 points and 9.8 rebounds per game and led Jamesville-DeWitt to a Class A Section III championship. He was also named New York Large School Player of the Year. Before his senior season, Boeheim transferred to Brewster Academy in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire. He then committed to Syracuse University to play for his dad. During Boeheim's sophomore (2019-20) season, he started all 32 games and recorded 15.3 points, 3.0 made three-pointers and 1.1 steals per game. Boeheim's scoring increased to 17.8 points per contest as a junior as he shot 38.3 percent from behind the arc. As a senior (2021-22), Boeheim scored 19.2 points per contest and was named to the First-Team All-ACC squad. He was not selected during the 2022 NBA Draft, but later signed a two-way contract with the Detroit Pistons.
