Personal Bio/PreCareer Summary

Born in Serbia, Markovic started his professional career by signing with Mega Basket in 2023 but was loaned to OKK Beograd for the 2023-24 campaign. During that season, Markovic averaged 18 points, nine rebounds and two assists, leading the league in boards and earning All-First Team honors. He initially entered the 2024 NBA Draft but later withdrew and played for Mega Basket in 2024-25, averaging 14 points, seven boards, 2.6 assists and 1.7 steals-plus-blocks. Markovic posted 54/38/76 shooting splits on 8.9 field-goal attempts, 2.8 three-point tries and 4.2 free-throw trips per game. Markovic has also starred in international play. He led the U18 Serbian squad to gold at the 2023 FIBA European Championship, averaging 14 points, seven boards and two assists en route to All-Star honors. Markovic notably made his Serbian senior national team debut during the EuroBasket 2025 qualifiers at 19 years old. Even at 6-foot-11, Markovic's preferred position is on the wing. He has a great feel for the game and is extremely fluid for his size. Markovic's jumper will play at the next level, plus he happily and effectively attacks poor closeouts when defenses start to take away his three-point shot. He's also willing to find the open guy when double- or triple-teamed. Markovic has the length and instincts to be a rim-protector at the NBA level but needs to work on his perimeter defense. Most of Markovic's defensive highlights come as a secondary defender, so there's hope he could be a plus-defender in the right scheme. At only 19 years old, Markovic still has time to fill out his frame, but there wasn't a player in the NBA who was at least 6-foot-8 and weighed less than 200 pounds during the 2024-25 campaign. Markovic's skill set is reminiscent of a blend between guys like Franz Wagner (6'10, 220), Lauri Markkanen (7'0, 240), Chet Holmgren (7'1, 207) and Santi Aldama (7'0, 216). Wagner, Markkanen and Holmgren are among the best players on their respective teams, while Aldama has carved out a consistent offensive role off Memphis' bench, so reaching that level is a more realistic scenario for Markovic. Another easy comparison to make, given Markovic's frame and birthplace, is Aleksej Pokusevski (7'0, 210), who struggled to stick in the NBA after being selected with the No. 17 overall pick by the Thunder in 2020.

July 6, 2026
Markovic (undisclosed) didn't play in Sunday's 89-69 California Classic Summer League loss to the Nets.
ANALYSIS
After posting 16 points (8-12 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 0-1 FT), six rebounds, three assists and one steal over 25 minutes during the Bucks' 97-83 win over the Warriors Blue on Saturday at the California Classic Summer League, Markovic sat out the second half of a back-to-back set. The 2025 second-round pick didn't report to the Bucks last season, but he could be part of their 2026-27 plans, especially after trading away Giannis Antetokounmpo.
