Personal Bio/PreCareer Summary

Alex Karaban spent his entire college career as a member of the UConn Huskies, dating back to his freshman year in 2022-23 when he won the first of two NCAA titles. This past season, he put up career-highs in minutes (35.8), points (14.3), rebounds (5.3), assists (2.8) and blocks (1.5) per game while earning All-Big East Second Team and NABC Mid Atlantic District Second Team honors. In 111 games played, the Northboro, Massachusetts native recorded shooting splits of 46.9 / 37.5 / 84.1. Karaban projects as a reliable role player at the next level. He's produced and shown improvement from year to year on championship-caliber teams, displays good range with the proven ability to connect from behind the arc, has good size on the wing at 6-foot-8, makes solid, well-timed cuts to the hoop, and is an active rebounder on both ends. Although not known for his defense, Karaban is a smart, disciplined player who will benefit from a strong system around him. With nearly every team valuing 3-point shooting and size on the wing, Karaban could certainly fill a depth piece who provides off-ball scoring punch and rebounding wherever he winds up. He's a winner, as evidenced by playing a large role for UConn's back-to-back title teams in 2023 and 2024, while playing alongside top-end talents like Stephon Castle, Tristen Newton and Donovan Clingan. Karaban's game and skill set shares similarities to Georges Niang (ATL), Sam Hauser (BOS) and Dean Wade (CLE).
