D'Angelo Russell News: Picks up option
Russell picked up his $6 million team option for the 2026-27 season, Jake Fischer of BleacherReport.com reports.
This was an expected move for Russell, as his market value is pretty low right now after a forgettable season. Following his trade from the Mavericks, Russell did not make any appearances for the Wizards and spent his time away from the team because a buyout was expected. Despite this transaction, there's no guarantee Russell will be in Washington's plans for 2026-27.
