Rest-of-Season Projections
2026 Fantasy Outlook
Soderstrom played a different primary position for a third straight year last season, working primarily in left field after seeing most of his action at first base in 2024, though he'll still be fantasy eligible at first base for 2026 since he made 49 appearances there. The young slugger took a major step forward at the plate, finishing with 25 homers, 93 RBI, 75 runs and a .276/.346/.474 slash line in 158 games. Soderstrom also recorded eight stolen bases, which is a major surprise since that's double the number of steals he entered the season with in 407 games of professional baseball. His batted-ball metrics remained largely unchanged from 2024, but an improved line-drive rate of 20.1 percent and reduced flyball rate (31.8 percent) helped lead to better results in 2025. Soderstrom also cut his strikeout rate to 22.6 percent, which indicates he may have moved past the contact issues that followed him through the minor leagues. He'll have high expectations in 2026 after the breakout campaign, but the underlying data indicates his 2025 production is repeatable. Read Past Outlooks
Belts homer Sunday
Soderstrom went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, a double, two total RBI and two runs scored in Sunday's 23-9 loss to the Rockies.
Analysis
Soderstrom continues to flex power in June with five homers over 12 games this month. He's batting .317 (13-for-41) with 13 RBI in that span. For the season, the outfielder is batting .241 with an .814 OPS, 12 long balls, 39 RBI, 33 runs scored, 19 doubles, two triples and a stolen base over 68 contests. His recent hitting is helping him get closer to the production he displayed last year, though his .257 BABIP on the campaign suggests he is still waiting for his luck to fully come back.

Soderstrom suffered an unfortunate wrist injury in early July which forced him to the sidelines for two months, but when he was on the field he did some really interesting things. The batted-ball data for Soderstrom in particular jumped off the page, as he boasted a 49.6 percent hard-hit rate and 14.6 percent barrel rate, numbers which would have put him in the top-20 in baseball had he seen enough action to qualify. One concern with Soderstrom is that he feasted on fastballs (.447 xwOBA) but did very little against breaking balls (.227 xwOBA) or offspeed pitches (.263 xwOBA), so some adjustments will be needed. The 23-year-old was able to cut his strikeout rate to 24.9 percent last season, but his track record pre-2024 suggests contact could be an issue. What's not in question is Soderstrom's power, and he should benefit from a move away from Oakland Coliseum. Soderstrom will not have catcher eligibility heading into 2025, and with Shea Langeliers around it's unclear whether he'll get it back.
