2026 Fantasy Outlook
Rogers enjoyed one of his finest MLB seasons in 2025, but only those who played in leagues that reward holds likely benefitted from his success. The submariner racked up 30-plus holds (32 - good for fourth in the majors) for the third consecutive year, finishing one shy of his career-high in the category. The 34-year-old righty doesn't produce many whiffs or strikeouts, but continues to be one of the best in the league at inducing grounders and weak contact. His 61.6 groundball percentage ranked sixth among relievers, while his 2.1 opposing barrel percentage and 85.8 mph average exit velocity allowed were 100th and 99th percentile metrics per Statcast, respectively. He also finished near the top of the leaderboard with a 2.3 percent walk rate (third), 1.98 ERA (ninth), 0.94 WHIP (16th) across his 77.1 innings (seventh) between the Giants and Mets. Rogers recently signed a three-year, $37 million contract with Toronto, where he figures to open 2026 in a setup role. Read Past Outlooks
Tagged with loss vs. Brewers
Rogers (1-1) was tagged with the loss in relief Wednesday against the Brewers, allowing two runs (one earned) on two hits and a walk over an inning.
Analysis
Rogers had opened the season with a streak of eight scoreless appearances, but he was tagged with both runs in the eighth -- an RBI single from William Contreras and an RBI groundout from Brice Turang. Even though this was far from being Rogers' best outing, he still has a 0.93 ERA across his first 9.2 innings over nine appearances this season. He should remain a trustworthy arm out of the Blue Jays' pen as long as he can continue to limit the damage like he's done in the past, but his 5:4 K:BB is a bit concerning from a fantasy perspective.

Rogers maintained his workhorse role last season, logging 74 innings across 68 appearances for San Francisco. The 32-year-old tied a career-high with 30 holds (third-most in the majors) that ended up being one shy of the league lead. After struggling against left-handed hitters in 2022, he rebounded against them last season (.200 BAA). The submariner was once again effective with his sinker and slider combination that limited hard contact and induced a 50-plus percent groundball rate. Rogers' 2.2 barrel percentage allowed was a 100th percentile Statcast metric, while his 84.4 mph average exit velocity (99th) and 27.2 percent hard-hit rate (98th) were among the best in the league. He continues to be a strong target in formats that reward holds.
