Rest-of-Season Projections
2026 Fantasy Outlook
The 38-year old free agent wrapped up 2025 playing for his tenth organization, nine of which have happened since the 2020 Covid season. He will not catch Edwin Jackson, but nine teams in six seasons is an incredible feat. Pham is a very discplined hitter at the plate as he has one of the lowest chase rates in all of baseball and knows exactly what he wants to see. However, that approach has led to four teams in the past two seasons with below average offensive production. His age limits him to left field or DH, which also limits his employablility by most clubs. He will likely get a minor league invite to someone's camp and it would be interesting to see what he did in a full-time DH role in the right situation. He may also decide to hang them up if he does not find the right opportunity because he has played in 115+ games in each of the past nine full seasons. Read Past Outlooks
Latches on with O's
Pham signed a minor-league contract with the Orioles on Saturday, Jon Heyman of the New York Post reports.
Analysis
Pham was let go by the Mets in late April after going 0-for-13 with seven strikeouts across nine games. He'll receive a chance to redeem himself in the Orioles organization, though he's unlikely to serve as more than bench depth at this stage in his career.

How does Tommy Pham compare to other hitters?
This section compares his stats with all batting seasons from the previous three seasons (minimum 400 plate appearances)*. The bar represents the player's percentile rank. For example, if the bar is halfway across, then the player falls into the 50th percentile for that stat and it would be considered average.
* Exit Velocity and Barrels/PA % are benchmarked against 2019 data (min 400 PA) and Hard Hit Rate is benchmarked against last season's data (min 400 PA). See here for more exit velocity/barrels stats plus an explanation of current limitations with that data set.

Pham was well traveled again during the 2024 campaign. After playing for two teams in both 2022 and 2023, he one-upped himself last season in suiting up for the White Sox, Cardinals and Royals. The production for the veteran outfielder was fairly lacking, with a .710 OPS in Chicago representing the high-water mark out of the three stops. Pham's quality of contact was also down from where we're used to seeing it, although a 42.7 percent hard-hit rate and 90.4 mph average exit velocity were both still well above average. He had a below average sprint speed for the first time in his career in 2024 and it's difficult to see a rebound in that part of his game heading into his age-37 season. Signing with Pittsburgh provides a path to playing time in right field, but Pham is likely to be a volatile fantasy option at this point in his career.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Not thinking about retirement
Pham is not thinking about retirement and is "aiming to play several more years," he told Katie Woo, Will Sammon and Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic.
Analysis
Pham has a goal in mind before retiring, as he wants to cross the 200-homer and 200-steal thresholds before calling it a career. The 37-year-old, who's a free agent, is currently 51 homers and 69 steals away from reaching those lofty goals. Pham spent the 2025 season with the Pirates, slashing .245/.330/.370 across 120 regular-season games.
