2026 Fantasy Outlook
White's control is pretty shaky, but everything else about the 6-foot-5 southpaw screams front of the rotation. He climbed from High-A to Triple-A in his age-20 season, logging a 2.31 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 145:51 K:BB in 89.2 innings. White, who received a $4.1 million bonus out of high school in 2023, walked 10 batters in 9.1 innings at Triple-A to close 2025, but he also struck out 17 in those two starts. He touches the upper 90s with his fastball, which has excellent movement, but his plus heater might be his third-best pitch. White's 70-grade sweeper is one of the best pitches in the minors and works against righties and lefties, while his changeup took a big step forward in 2025 as a plus weapon against righties. The Marlins always seem to have plenty of pitching, but White is the team's top prospect and he'll likely be up this summer if he gets the walks under control. Read Past Outlooks
Working through shoulder issue
Marlins president of baseball operations Peter Bendix said Sunday that White is recovering from "a bit of a shoulder thing," Kyle Sielaff of Marlins.tv reports.
Analysis
Triple-A Jacksonville placed White on its 7-day injured list, but Bendix indicated that the injury isn't a long-term concern for the 21-year-old lefty, who is regarded as one of the organization's top pitching prospects. Assuming he's able to rebound quickly from the shoulder issue, White will have plenty of time to build momentum for a potential promotion to the big leagues later on this season. White had compiled a 4.34 ERA, 1.48 WHIP and 25:9 K:BB in 18.2 innings through his first five starts with Jacksonville prior to landing on the IL.

2025 Fantasy Outlook
A high-pedigree southpaw who received $4.1 million from Miami in 2023 after sliding to pick No. 35, White improved his prospect stock throughout the 2024 season while showcasing one of the best sliders in the minors. White threw exactly five innings in each of his final eight starts for High-A Beloit, logging a 2.25 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 42 strikeouts in 40 innings over that stretch. The lanky 6-foot-5 lefty seemingly got better as the season went on, logging a 2.61 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 21.7 K-BB% in 13 starts at High-A after logging a 3.18 ERA, 1.59 WHIP and 17.2 K-BB% in eight starts for Single-A Jupiter to begin the year. His mid-90s fastball has great movement and gives him another easy plus pitch, while his changeup is a very good third pitch. White has long limbs and has struggled to throw strikes at times, but he showed impressive consistency down the stretch. He may head to Double-A for the beginning of his age-20 season, and if he throws enough strikes, he could finish 2025 as a top-five pitching prospect in baseball.
