2026 Fantasy Outlook
Harrington looked overmatched in his first taste of the majors last year, giving up nine runs in eight innings across two April starts and six runs in 0.2 innings in an August start. He spent most of the year at Triple-A, logging a 5.34 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 90 strikeouts in 96 innings. Coming into 2025, Harrington had a lot of fans, as he'd displayed pinpoint control in 2024 (4.1 BB%) across Double-A and Triple-A, and while he didn't have monster stuff, he had a deep pitch mix. His walk rates may have been elevated in 2025 because he wasn't trusting his stuff to play in the zone, but it was pretty clear last season that significant improvements are needed before he's ready to for another shot in the big-league rotation. Analysis
Harrington was one of eight players dismissed from big-league camp in the Pirates' latest round of roster cuts. The 24-year-old righty parlayed a strong showing last spring into a spot in the Pirates' season-opening rotation, but he made just one start and one extended relief appearance before he was sent back to the minors. He went on to make another long-relief appearance for Pittsburgh in early August, but he struggled across all three of his big-league outings and didn't fare much better over more extended action at Triple-A (5.34 ERA and 1.31 WHIP in 96 innings). Harrington remains an interesting prospect, but he's since been passed up on the organizational depth chart by a trio of young arms (Bubba Chandler, Braxton Ashcraft and Hunter Barco) and may not be in store for another look in the big-league rotation anytime soon.

2025 Fantasy Outlook
Harrington qualifies as a sleeper for both dynasty and redraft leagues. The 6-foot-2 righty sometimes gets overlooked in a system with several more famous and hard-throwing young pitchers, but Harrington has good stuff in his own right and excellent command. He logged walk rates below five percent at Double-A (3.7 BB%) and Triple-A (4.5 BB%) while also limiting damage (nine home runs allowed in 114.1 innings). Harrington's fastball sits in the low-90s but has good life, and he throws a total of five pitches that are at least average, with his slider and splitter flashing plus. There's not much evidence that Harrington will miss enough bats to be an SP2 or SP3 in fantasy, but when a 23-year-old starter has this type of command, it can sometimes lead to more fantasy value than the pure stuff would portend. He has an outside chance to compete for a rotation spot in the spring and should be up in the first half one way or another.
