2026 Fantasy Outlook
There was considerable buzz around Hinds after he made his major-league debut in July of 2024 and hit five home runs in his first six big-league games, but his inconsistency at the plate prevented him from earning a spot on the Reds' Opening Day roster for 2025. He did show some improvement at the dish with Triple-A Louisville, where he slashed .302/.359/.563 with 21 steals (in 26 attempts), 79 runs, 26 doubles, 24 home runs and 83 RBI across 435 plate appearances while reducing his strikeout rate to 26.0 percent. That rate nearly doubled to 47.7 percent across his 44 plate appearances in the majors, so there is room for growth for the 25-year-old. Hinds will likely open the 2026 season in the minors but would be a top candidate to be called up by the big club should the Reds need an outfielder with speed. Read Past Outlooks
Sent to Triple-A
The Reds optioned Hinds to Triple-A Louisville on Sunday.
Analysis
The 25-year-old was called up in mid-April and immediately received some chances in the outfield, but he'll return to Louisville after going 4-for-33 with 18 strikeouts in 12 big-league games. Continuing his hot start to the season at Triple-A (five homers and a 1.246 OPS in 61 plate appearances), may not be enough for Hinds to get another look in the majors, considering his career 42.0 percent strikeout rate in 131 PAs with the Reds.

Past Fantasy Outlooks

2021
Hinds did his best Aristides Aquino impression last season, bursting onto the scene before pulling a disappearing act. His run was brief but insane, as Hinds became just the second player in history to hit five home runs in his first six games. The Reds didn't seem to put much stock into it, which was understandable given the minuscule sample and Hinds' sky-high strikeout rate in the minors. He logged a mere seven plate appearances in September when the Reds were well out of playoff contention, which speaks to just how poor the body of work was at Triple-A Louisville. His power/speed combo will keep him on the radar, but the 24-year-old will need to cut down on the swing and miss in his game if he's going to have a chance at long-term success against big-league pitching.
