Perez got off to a delayed start to 2026 after being diagnosed with a forearm strain coming out of spring training, but he's since recovered from the issue. The right-hander was cleared to join the Arkansas bullpen after making four rehab appearances for Single-A Inland Empire, during which he posted a 3.60 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 10:1 K:BB across five innings in four appearances.
