2026 Fantasy Outlook
Garcia has a better chance to play after getting dealt from Boston to Pittsburgh this offseason, but he's not even assured regular work with the Bucs. A 23-year-old righty-hitting corner outfielder, Garcia was one of the prospects shipped out in the deal that sent Johan Oviedo to the Red Sox. Garcia has above-average power and hit .267/.340/.470 with 21 homers, seven steals, a 9.2 percent walk rate and a 26.8 percent strikeout rate in 114 games across Double-A and Triple-A last year. However, his strikeout rate jumped from 21 percent to 29.1 percent after the bump to Triple-A, and it jumped to 55.6 percent in nine MLB plate appearances. Garcia adds value with his corner-outfield defense, so if he can just get the strikeouts under control, he could seize everyday playing time. Read Past Outlooks
Sitting for third time in four games
Garcia is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Cubs.
Analysis
Garcia will head to the bench for the third time in four games and could have to settle for more of a part-time role in the outfield while the Pirates continue to open up room in the lineup for Marcell Ozuna, who will draw a third straight start. With Ozuna occupying the designated-hitter spot, Oneil Cruz will cover center field and will be flanked by Bryan Reynolds and Esmerlyn Valdez in the corner spots.

Garnered trade interest
According to Francys Romero of BeisbolFR.com, multiple teams had Garcia on their radar at the trade deadline.
Analysis
The 22-year-old outfielder is one of Boston's top prospects, so he only would have been included in a trade package for a top-end player. Garcia began the season at the Double-A level but was promoted to Triple-A Worcester in mid-May, and he has 15 homers with a .311/.378/.590 slash line in 56 games at the highest level of the minors.
