Rest-of-Season Projections
2026 Fantasy Outlook
After essentially having a lost season in 2024 (33 games), Williams stayed healthy in 2025 and played in a career-high 130 games across Double-A and Triple-A while slashing .261/.363/.465 with 17 home runs and 34 steals. He was much more productive at Double-A (156 wRC+ in 96 games) than Triple-A (81 wRC+ in 34 games), although he did hit for more power (.224 ISO) at Triple-A than at Double-A (.196 ISO) while maintaining a viable 23.2 percent strikeout rate. His unlucky .223 BABIP and the dip from a 14.7 percent walk rate at Double-A to a 9.3 percent walk rate at Triple-A were the primary causes of his performance dip following an August promotion. Williams' strong arms, impressive bat speed and short swing make up for his lack in height (5-foot-7, 175 pounds), and he still grades as at least a plus runner. His 46.7 Statcast HardHit% was a strong mark for a 21-year-old up-the-middle athlete at Triple-A, but his poor surface stats at that level and lack of hype this offseason leave Williams floating a bit under the radar. He can play the infield and outfield, and being traded to the Brewers in January should provide him a clearer path to playing time. Shortstop Joey Ortiz was one of the worst qualified batters in baseball last season, and the Brewers also traded away Caleb Durbin, leaving third base as an open competition. Read Past Outlooks
Sent out of big-league camp
Williams was reassigned to minor-league camp Monday, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
Analysis
Williams put together a promising spring after being dealt to the Brewers from the Mets as part of the Freddy Peralta trade during the offseason. Williams went 5-for-12 with two doubles, one triple, three RBI, two stolen bases and three runs in six games with the big-league club. After failing to secure a spot on Milwaukee's Opening Day roster, Williams is slated to begin the 2026 season at Triple-A Nashville.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2025
2024
2023
It was a borderline lost season for Williams in 2024, as he landed on the Double-A injured list in late-April with a wrist injury that required a cortisone injection and then surgery. All told, Williams missed four months with the wrist issue and then he sprained his ankle late in the Arizona Fall League season. He had a great six-game run at Triple-A to close the regular season, but Williams' stats were generally below expectations, although it's tough to say how much the wrist issue affected his play. He had a 24.4 percent strikeout rate and a 13.7 percent walk rate across Double-A and Triple-A as a 20-year-old, so his command of the zone was apparent, but he didn't hit any home runs until the AFL, where he slashed .225/.376/.388 with two home runs, seven steals and a 30:17 K:BB in 101 plate appearances. Williams has a very good eye at the plate, and sometimes he knows the zone better than the minor-league umpires, but he only made contact at a 71.3 percent clip at Double-A, so there was more swing and miss last year than expected. A sturdy, athletic 5-foot-6 middle infielder whose 70-grade speed could allow a move to center field, Williams has shades of Corbin Carroll from a raw tools standpoint. The home park at Double-A Binghamton is especially harsh for right-handed hitters, which could allow for a buy-low opportunity in dynasty leagues.
