Rest-of-Season Projections
2026 Fantasy Outlook
Over the past two seasons, Gaddis has established himself as one of the game's top setup men. After finishing third in the majors with 34 holds in 2024, the 27-year-old finished second last year with 35. The 6-foot-6 righty maintained his slider-heavy approach that he adopted when he transitioned to relief role, tossing it more than half of the time. He increased both his whiff percentage and strikeout rate, with each jumping three percentage points compared to 2024. However, when opposing batters did make contact, they hit the ball hard as his average exit velocity allowed (90.9 mph) and 9.5 barrel percentage were below average marks. Gaddis' changeup was not as effective as it was during prior campaigns, but he did produce a 46.2 percent whiff rate on the pitch. Throwing more could help Gaddis reach a K-rate north of 30 percent, but he's been pretty consistent with his pitch usage over the past two years. He's once again in line for 30-plus holds and a handful of saves for 2026. Read Past Outlooks
Back from injured list
The Guardians activated Gaddis (forearm) from the 15-day injured list Monday.
Analysis
Gaddis allowed five runs over 4.1 rehab innings with Triple-A Columbus, but the Guardians believe he's ready to help their bullpen despite those results. Though he filled a high-leverage role for Cleveland in 2025, Gaddis could be eased into such situations initially this season.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2025
2024
2023
Gaddis was a pleasant surprise for the Guardians during his first full season in the majors. After making seven spot-starts for Cleveland in 2023, the 26-year-old righty transitioned to a relief role and altered his pitch mix, ditching his curveball and cutter entirely while throwing more sliders (45 percent pitch usage). Gaddis also gained velocity - adding two miles per hour on his fastball and nearly four miles per hour on his slider. This yielded much better results, as Gaddis finished 5th among qualified relievers with a 1.57 ERA and tied for 6th with a 0.76 WHIP. He also tied for third in the majors with 34 holds and will open 2025 in a setup role for the Guardians.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Should be ready for Opening Day
Gaddis underwent imaging on his forearm and everything "came back clean," so he should be available for Opening Day, manager Stephen Vogt told Tim Stebbins of MLB.com.
Analysis
Gaddis experienced forearm tightness after his first spring outing on Feb. 27, but he has since resumed his throwing progression. Since the imaging came back clean, the reliever should be ready to pitch once the season starts in late March. Gaddis has been an absolute workhorse in the Guardians' bullpen, as he's made 151 appearances over the last two regular seasons -- the second-highest mark in all of baseball in that span.
