Teodo will be about 2-to-3 weeks behind schedule in spring training after dealing with a back injury last season, Jeff Wilson of AllDLLS.com reports.
Analysis
Teodo missed more than two months of action during the middle of the 2025 minor-league season because of a back problem. He finished the season healthy, but the Rangers don't want to push him early on in camp. Teodo made a full-time move to a relief role in 2025, posting a 9.00 ERA and 23:17 K:BB over 18 innings during his time with Triple-A Round Rock.

2025 Fantasy Outlook
The Rangers haven't pulled the plug on Teodo starting just yet, but he arguably has a higher realistic ceiling in roto leagues as an elite reliever than as an inefficient starter. Blessed with special arm speed that generates easy triple-digit fastball velocity, Teodo also has a plus slider and a plus changeup. However, the Dominican righty has below-average command and control and walked 14 percent of batters at Double-A in 2024. He was placed on the development list late in the year after walking eight batters in seven innings over a pair of starts, but he returned to log two relief appearances for Frisco in mid-September. If Teodo's command were to improve in 2025, he could make his big-league debut as a starter, but it's probably more likely that he'll get his feet wet in the big-league bullpen this summer after being added to the 40-man roster in the offseason.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Rotation option for 2025?
PTexas Rangers
October 16, 2024
According to Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News, Teodo could make his MLB debut in 2025 and be a factor in Texas' starting rotation.
Analysis
The 23-year-old is one of the organization's top prospects and spent the 2024 campaign with Double-A Frisco, where he posted a 1.98 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 110:50 K:BB across 86.1 innings. Teodo spent most of the final month of the season on the development list after having some control issues in August, but he rejoined Frisco for one relief appearance at the end of the year. The right-hander isn't likely to break camp with the Rangers in the spring, but even a decent showing at Triple-A Round Rock should give him a strong chance of making his MLB debut at some point in 2025.
