Nikhazy was selected in the second round of the 2021 MLB Draft by the Guardians and finally made his major-league debut in a spot start in late April against the Red Sox, though he got roughed up for six runs on five hits and six walks over three innings, coming away with the loss. He made one more appearance in the majors while operating out of the bullpen but spent most of the 2025 season with Triple-A Columbus, where he started in 19 of 21 games and finished with a 5-7 record and a 5.02 ERA, 1.53 WHIP and 87:43 K:BB across 86 innings.
