2026 Fantasy Outlook
After missing the majority of the 2024 campaign due to a right shoulder injury, Beeter's 2025 campaign was delayed due impingement syndrome in the same shoulder. The 27-year-old was sidelined for about a month before he was activated from the injured list and optioned to Triple-A, where he continued his transition to a full-time relief role. Beeter was recalled by the Yankees in July, but allowed six earned runs across two appearances (3.2 innings) before he was sent back down. A subsequent trade to Washington gave the right-hander a path to the majors once again, where he flashed impressive stuff out of Nationals' bullpen. Among pitchers who threw a minimum of 200 sliders in 2025, Beeter's produced the best batting average against (.098) and 7th-best whiff rate at 49.1 percent. He struck out 32 across 21.2 innings with the Nats while pitching in high-leverage, but Beeter will need to overcome his poor command and persistent durability issues to reach his fantasy potential. Scoreless outing in return
Beeter walked one and struck out two in a scoreless eighth inning Thursday during a 2-1 loss to the Mets.
Analysis
The right-hander was activated off the IL earlier in the day and was immediately thrust into a high-leverage spot, taking over from Cade Cavalli in a one-run game. Beeter has been sidelined since April 21 due to forearm soreness, but in his absence no one staked a strong claim to the Nationals' closer job -- Gus Varland leads the team with four saves to Beeter's two. Control remains the biggest obstacle between Beeter and the gig, and through 11.1 innings this season he has a 3.18 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 11:9 K:BB.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2025
2024
Beeter made the opening day roster, but was quickly sent down to work in the Triple-A rotation after his only appearance out of the pen. Beeter struck out 44 batters in 32 innings of work, holding the opposition to a .153/.286/.225 line until a shoulder injury put him on the injured list for nearly four months. Beeter worked exclusively as a reliever upon his return in September, picking up where he left off, striking out 17 of the 35 batters he faced between Somerset, Scranton and in the majors. The move to the pen appears to be only a temporary thing to fit both his recovery timetable as well as a need the club had down the stretch. Beeter should be one of the names we see called up during the season, should the rotation need to cover for injuries or if the club decides to covert him into the role Luke Weaver so nicely filled last year as a multiple-inning weapon out of the pen. Either way, anyone with a 33.2 percent career strikeout rate and a 20.5 percent K-BB percentage over three seasons of minor league work deserves some attention in the later rounds of draft-and-hold leagues or deeper mono leagues.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Could be fit for Cardinals
Beeter could be a trade option for the Cardinals, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Analysis
Goold notes that the Yankees are seeking outfield and short-term pitching help, which are areas the Cardinals can cover if they decide to sell at the trade deadline. The 24-year-old Beeter isn't one of New York's top prospects but has collected a 2.64 ERA and 83:38 K:BB over 71.2 frames between Double-A Somerset and Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre in 2023. He was acquired from the Dodgers at last year's trade deadline in exchange for Joey Gallo.
