26-Year-Old PitcherRP
New York Yankees
2024 Fantasy Outlook
Beeter finished his 2023 season strong at Triple-A and impressed enough in spring training to figure into the Opening Day rotation mix. Even at his best last season, Beeter walked too many batters, but that was partially due to the automated balls and strikes system that led to inflated walk rates across the board. He primarily works with a 94-95 mph fastball and a plus 86-mph slider, so unless he can be more efficient with his pitches, Beeter might work best as a pitcher who follows an opener or works as a piggyback starter and throws three or four innings per outing. The Yankees recalled Beeter from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Beeter will come up to replace Jake Cousins (pectoral), who landed on the 15-day injured list. The right-handed Beeter was at one point feared lost for the season due to a shoulder injury, but he was able to return to action in the minors earlier this month. He allowed just one hit over four scoreless innings after rejoining Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

Could be fit for Cardinals
PNew York Yankees
July 14, 2023
Beeter could be a trade option for the Cardinals, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
ANALYSIS
Goold notes that the Yankees are seeking outfield and short-term pitching help, which are areas the Cardinals can cover if they decide to sell at the trade deadline. The 24-year-old Beeter isn't one of New York's top prospects but has collected a 2.64 ERA and 83:38 K:BB over 71.2 frames between Double-A Somerset and Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre in 2023. He was acquired from the Dodgers at last year's trade deadline in exchange for Joey Gallo.
