Given that he's one of only two catchers currently on its 40-man roster (Murphy being the other), Tromp appears in line to serve as the No. 2 backstop in 2025, though top prospect Drake Baldwin figures to push him aside sooner rather than later. Tromp hit well at Triple-A Gwinnett last season, but he's 30 and it would take a rash of injuries for him to find himself in the lineup regularly.
