2024 Fantasy Outlook
An advanced hitter with a bit of power and a lot of speed, Jorge made a strong impression in his full-season debut in 2023. The 5-foot-10 lefty hitter may have ran out of gas after a late-season promotion to High-A, but he slashed .295/.400/.483 with nine home runs, 31 steals and a 19.7 percent strikeout rate in 86 games at Single-A. Jorge has a chance to be a plus hitter with plus speed, which would be a useful combination in fantasy. He isn't a zero in the power department, but that will be the weakest part of his game, likely topping out at around 15 homers, even if he's playing half his games in Great American Ball Park. Jorge should head back to High-A, but he could reach Double-A before he turns 21 in September. Read Past Outlooks

Finishing season at High-A

August 21, 2023
The Reds promoted Jorge from Single-A Daytona to High-A Dayton on Aug. 11.
ANALYSIS
The 19-year-old second baseman slashed .295/.400/.483 with nine home runs, 31 steals and a 19.7 percent strikeout rate in 86 games for Daytona prior to the promotion. Jorge is hitting .231 with a 40.7 percent strikeout rate in his first 27 plate appearances for Dayton, but regardless of how he fares at High-A over the rest of the season, his production at Single-A confirmed that he has an exciting long-term toolset for fantasy.

2023 Fantasy Outlook
Jorge's bat was trending up when he signed with the Reds for just under $500K as part of the 2020 J-2 class that had to wait until January of 2021 to sign. He dominated in the Dominican Summer League (173 wRC+) in 2021 and that success carried over in the Arizona Complex League (151 wRC+) last season, although his K% went from 17.0% to 26.6%. Jorge may have been a little too patient, but his 65.5 Contact% wasn't great either. We know he can get the ball in the air (38.2 GB%) and put his plus speed to work on the bases (54-for-63 on SB attempts in pro ball), but we should learn more about his ability to hit for average in his full-season debut.
