Rest-of-Season Projections
Sent down to minors
The Phillies optioned Stevenson to their spring training complex Tuesday, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.
ANALYSIS
With Triple-A Lehigh Valley's season over, Stevenson will report to the team's spring training facility, where he'll work out in case he's needed later on. The transaction frees a spot on the roster for the return of Austin Hays (kidney) from the injured list.

2023 Fantasy Outlook
Stevenson debuted for Oakland on Aug. 10 and had a .478 OPS in 23 games before he went back to the minors. He was acquired from the Rays over the summer and had an .801 OPS at the Triple-A level last season. The A's have plenty of young talent in the outfield, but Esteury Ruiz and Ramon Laureano are likely the only two with secure starting jobs, center and right field, respectively, to begin 2023. Stevenson could be in the mix for a spot on the Opening Day roster with a strong showing in spring training, but he could still end up beginning the season in the minors. Now entering his age-26 season, he's likely more of a wait-and-see fantasy commodity, unless he significantly raises his stock during camp.
