2025 Projections
Undergoes Tommy John surgery
Lacy announced Tuesday via his personal Instagram account that he underwent Tommy John surgery, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Lacy didn't pitch at all in 2023 while dealing with an undisclosed injury, and this latest injury will wipe out all of his 2024 campaign as well. The first-round pick from 2020 has logged a total of 80 innings in affiliated ball in his career. He has yet to pitch above Double-A and will be in his age-26 season by the time he recovers from this latest surgery.

2021 Fantasy Outlook
Lacy dominated to the tune of a 0.75 ERA, 0.71 WHIP and 46:8 K:BB in 24 innings across four starts as a junior for Texas A&M and was selected fourth overall in last year's draft. He threw a few too many non-competitive pitches while trying to get whiffs on offerings nowhere near the zone, but it's hard to quibble too much with that since he was in complete control against college hitters, who hit .111 against the southpaw in his abbreviated junior season. Lacy's mid-90s fastball plays up due to deception and extension, while his newly-improved 87-90 mph slider is another borderline 70-grade pitch. A plus changeup and above-average curveball round out an exceptional four-pitch mix. A 6-foot-4, 215-pound lefty with a bevy of plus pitches and an excellent track record over his last two seasons (19 starts), Lacy has a very high ceiling, with command being the one thing to track in his first full pro season.
