Rest-of-Season Projections
No-throw for three weeks
Manager Aaron Boone said Tuesday that Chivilli (shoulder) will be shut down from throwing for roughly three weeks, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.
Analysis
Boone said that Chivilli has some "acute and chronic stuff going on" in his right shoulder, so the Yankees will shut him down for an extended period of time. The team may provide a timetable for the right-hander's return once his no-throw period is over.

2025 Fantasy Outlook
Chivilli got his first taste of the big leagues in 2024, initially skipping the Triple-A level when he first joined the Rockies in May. The 21-year-old right-hander didn't appear in a game during his first stint with Colorado, but made five appearances after his second promotion a month later. Chivilli struggled and was sent back to the minors, but he'd reappear in late-July after the Rockies traded Jalen Beeks and Nick Mears. He'd experience much better results this time around, producing a 50 percent groundball rate thanks to an upper-90's sinker that he featured 42 percent of the time. Chivilli induced plenty of whiffs on his secondary offerings, including a remarkable 55.9 percent clip on his changeup (40% usage) that was second-highest in the league for that pitch type. This didn't translate to many strikeouts, but Chivilli struck out 10.8 batters per nine innings in the minors. He figures to have a role in the Rockies 2025 bullpen.
