Double-A Erie placed Sears on its 7-day injured list Thursday while he continues to recover from a left elbow osteophyte fracture, Sam Dykstra of MLB.com reports.
Analysis
Sears enjoyed a breakout 2025 season, logging a 3.49 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 123 strikeouts in 111 innings across High-A and Double-A. He made just six starts at Double-A last season, and it's unclear when he might be ready to make his return to the Erie rotation. Sears is in the midst of a throwing program but is without a definitive target date for his 2026 debut.
