Up from St. Paul
The Twins recalled Morris from Triple-A St. Paul on Saturday, Audra Martin of FanDuel Sports Network North reports.
Analysis
Cody Laweryson (forearm) is set to spend at least the next couple of weeks on the injured list, so Morris will come up from Triple-A to fill the open roster spot. The 24-year-old righty has worked almost exclusively as a starter throughout his minor-league career but figures to act as a multi-inning reliever while with the Twins. He'll be making his MLB debut whenever he gets into a game.

2025 Fantasy Outlook
Morris is a big-league ready starter who figures to head back to Triple-A and wait for an opening in the Twins rotation. The 6-foot righty logged 133 innings with a 2.37 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 18.6 K-BB% across the three highest levels of the minors in 2024. His walk rate was below six percent at High-A and Double-A, and even after the promotion to Triple-A, where the balls and strikes challenge system inflates pitcher walk rates, he logged a perfectly fine eight percent walk rate in 33.2 innings. His stuff is just OK, and his strikeout rate dipped from above 25 percent at High-A and Double-A to 19.6 percent at Triple-A. Morris has a deceptive delivery that allows his 92-95 mph fastball to play, but the pitch lacks good movement. He throws five pitches, including an above-average mid-80s slider and a recently-added 90-mph cutter. The Twins will probably enter the year with unproven or uninspiring options at No. 4 and No. 5 starter, so Morris should get his chance sometime this summer.
