Alfredo Duno

Duno undoubtedly has a great eye and huge power -- the big questions are whether he can stick behind the plate long term and how low his batting averages will be in the big leagues. At 6-foot-3, 248 pounds and only 20 years old, the XXL-framed Duno could conceivably be too big and stiff to remain at catcher into his mid-20s. He had a 19.2 percent walk rate and 18.4 percent strikeout rate while logging a 163 wRC+ and hitting 18 home runs in 113 games at Single-A as a 19-year-old. Duno will likely always have high walk rates, but his strikeout rates should increase as he moves up the ladder, given the length in his swing. It's possible he is a 25-plus homer, high-OBP catcher, but there are shades of a young Miguel Sano with Duno, where he's extremely gifted but lacks the conditioning or contact skill to succeed into his late-20s.
