Rest-of-Season Projections
2026 Fantasy Outlook
The free agent utility player is eligible at second base and the outfield on draft day, and he will end up on some team's bench before the season starts so you can utilize him on your mono league bench as well. 2023 was a fun season for him in Baltimore, but he has not abee able to get back to that level of production in the counting categories, even with similar playing time this past season as he split time between Pittsburgh and Kansas City. He remains a high contact line drive hitter with little power and speed, but his approach and versatility will endear him to some team looking for infield depth and pinch hitting off the bench. It would surprise us to see Frazier amass 400+ plate appearances again this season unless he goes somewhere like Washington where he can provide some experience to an incredibly youthful lineup. Not starting against righty
Frazier is absent from the lineup for Thursday's opener in Houston.
Analysis
Right-hander Hunter Brown is on the bump for the Astros, but the left-handed-hitting Frazier will yield to righty Oswald Peraza at second base. The two player could wind up sharing the position rather than operating in a straight platoon at the keystone this season.

How does Adam Frazier compare to other hitters?
This section compares his stats with all batting seasons from the previous three seasons (minimum 400 plate appearances)*. The bar represents the player's percentile rank. For example, if the bar is halfway across, then the player falls into the 50th percentile for that stat and it would be considered average.
* Exit Velocity and Barrels/PA % are benchmarked against 2019 data (min 400 PA) and Hard Hit Rate is benchmarked against last season's data (min 400 PA). See here for more exit velocity/barrels stats plus an explanation of current limitations with that data set.

Frazier is returning to where it all began. After moving on from the Pirates in 2021, then playing with four different teams, he's back in the Steel City on a one-year deal where he'll serve as a super-utility with the ability to play infield and outfield. Last season with the Royals was the first he didn't play regularly since 2019 as his already weak Hard-Hit rate dropped even more while he posted a career high strikeout rate. The Pirates infield isn't exactly stacked with potential All-Stars, but Frazier will need to regain some exit velocity to be anything more than an occasional fill in. Even though, he offers little in terms of power and speed.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Favorite for 2B role
Frazier is seen as the favorite to open the 2026 season as the Angels' everyday second baseman, according to Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com.
Analysis
The Angels optioned Christian Moore and Kyren Paris to Triple-A Salt Lake over the weekend, so now it seems Frazier has the upper hand to win the second base role. The veteran left-handed hitter has made a strong impression in camp, hitting .348 while striking out just four times in 23 at-bats. The fact that Frazier is a lefty also provides the lineup with some much-needed balance.
