Meckler has slashed an incredible .370/.465/.517 over 463 plate appearances in pro ball since the Giants plucked him with an eighth-round pick in the 2022 Draft. He began the 2023 campaign at High-A Eugene but reached the majors in August, ultimately managing just a .578 OPS with a 39.1 percent strikeout rate during his brief time with the Giants. That swing-and-miss was atypical of Meckler, who has a 16 percent strikeout rate and 14.9 percent walk rate in the minors. The hit tool will need to carry him, as Meckler has shown very little power dating back to his college days at Oregon State. His versatility and speed are assets along with his potential to hit for average, though, giving the 23-year-old some potential usefulness in a utility role. Read Past Outlooks
