Walcott has the frame (6-foot-4, 190 pounds) and elite athleticism to stand out in the field, even to the untrained eye. The Bahamian infielder spent most of his age-17 season in the Arizona Complex League, while also playing nine games in the Dominican Summer League and four games at High-A at the end of the year. He needs to make significant improvements as a hitter to reach his superstar ceiling. Given how poor complex-league pitching is, Walcott's 32.5 percent strikeout rate there was concerning, even when factoring in his youth. He is a plus runner, and it's not clear how much he will slow down as he fills out his frame. It's possible he just gets stronger and doesn't slow down, but he could also really fill out and move to third base. For what it's worth, he has been benched by the team due to not managing his emotions on the field.
