2024 Fantasy Outlook
Wilson made his big-league debut at age-28 last August, and he made the most of a pair of brief opportunities. In a tiny sample of eight games, he slashed .313/.500/.500 with a homer and three steals. He even earned a spot on the Phillies' Wild Card roster, though he didn't get into a game and was dropped for future rounds. Wilson's 31 homers and 32 steals for Triple-A Lehigh Valley last season suggest he's the type of player who could provide more fantasy value than expected if given an extended run, though he'll likely enter 2024 as an underdog for even a spot on the end of the bench. There's usually a reason why a player fails to debut before their late twenties, and in Wilson's case, that reason seems to be an elevated strikeout rate. His 27.5% mark at the Triple-A level over the last two campaigns is poor in its own right but gets worse when you factor in his age. Wilson may get found out if he's pressed into regular duty, but his speed could help out in deeper leagues if he earns a run of starts. Read Past Outlooks
