Peraza suffered a shoulder injury in February, which forced him to wait until May until he could make his season debut. By the time Peraza started heating up at the plate at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, the Yankees had traded for Jazz Chisholm and had no place to play Peraza. He finished the season with only 11 plate appearances at the big-league level and is sitting on a lowly .612 OPS so far in the majors. Peraza is just 24, but it feels as if his window to make an impact with the Yankees might have already passed him by.
