Ruiz stole 67 bases in 2025, but just 4 of those came in the majors. He was summarily chased from Oakland early in 2025 after play and some off the field support for the fans around the stadium debacle in Oakland, and the Dodgers grabbed him for organizational depth. Ruiz was fantastic in Pacific Coast League play, and will likely be gain with Andy Pages, Tommy Edman, and Teoscar Hernandez gobbling up a majority of the playing time in the outfield. Ruiz almost dictates stashing in deeper formats on the chance the Dodgers either have unfortunate injuries or they deal him to another organization who can give him the playing time to see whether he can repeat what he did for the 2023 Athletics. He would be a pricey free agent acquisition in fantasy leagues as soon as either opportunity presented itself, so why not get ahead of that and try to hold onto that dream until the cut is necessary?
