Adams was one of the most productive backup catchers in baseball last season, slashing an impressive .273/.331/.476 with four home runs across 158 plate appearances. A huge chunk of that production came against left-handed pitching, with Adams sporting a .960 OPS with three of his four long balls versus southpaws. Adams made more than twice as many starts against lefties than he did against righties and it could be a similar setup in 2024, with Keibert Ruiz seeing some action at designated hitter those days.
