Acquired from the Angels in the Hunter Renfroe trade in November of 2022, Junk made just two appearances during his first year with the Brewers. The 28-year-old covered 140 innings at Triple-A Nashville last season and finished with an underwhelming 4.18 ERA, 1.35 WHIP and 94:44 K:BB.
