Latz opened 2024 in the majors and spent more time with the Rangers than in the minors for the first time since making his MLB debut in 2022. The left-hander danced around elevated walk (14.1 percent) and hard-hit (40.3 percent) rates to post a 3.71 ERA (5.01 xERA) over 43.2 innings before an August forearm injury. He finished out the season rehabbing and eventually had a late September activation to the minors. The Rangers lost several members of the 2024 bullpen, so there should be spots up for grabs during spring training.
