Jack Suwinski

Suwinski has been chasing that 2023 season these last two seasons as hard as Alan Jackson chased that neon rainbow in Nashville. 2025 was worse than 2024 as Suwinski fell into a three-true outcome model of walk, strikeout, or just getting out as his .253 slugging percentage was lower than his .281 on-base percentage. The strikeouts have always been an issue despite his strike zone discipline as major league pitchers simply beat him in the zone, which got worse on fastballs last season as he swuing and missed at nearly a third of the fastballs he saw. The Pirates still believe in him, somehow, as they signed him to a very cheap one-year deal to avoid arbitration and he will be in the mix because he is out of minor league options. Simply put, it's make or break time for Suwinski and we see little reason to believe he will be reuinted with his fun 2023 season in 2026. Read Past Outlooks
