2026 Projections
2026 Fantasy Outlook
Jones's value to Detroit is that he is a right-handed hitting outfielder on a club with two lefty hitting outfielders who really should be protected from most left-handed pitching. Jones flourished in that platoon situation last season with 16 extra base hits including 7 homers and a .288 average against lefties in 122 plate appearances. Detroit was Jones's fifth major league club in five seasons while 2025 was easily his most productive on a big league roster. Jones has the skills to function perfectly fine in that role, but you should be careful trying to project full-season possibilities off a 2025 season that was perfectly designed to accentuate what Jones does well. There is a reason why he has been in five organaizations in five seasons, but he appears to have found a good fit in Detroit that makes him fantasy viable in deeper AL-Only leagues.
