Scott Barlow News: Cut loose by Athletics

The Athletics released Barlow on Wednesday.

Barlow was designated for assignment Sunday after he produced a 6.48 ERA, 1.35 WHIP and 29:19 K:BB in 33.1 innings over 36 appearances out of the Athletics bullpen. Though no team was willing to put in a waiver claim for Barlow, the 33-year-old right-hander shouldn't have much trouble securing a minor-league deal now that the Athletics have let him test the open market.
