The Royals released Sanchez on Tuesday.
Sanchez inked a minor-league pact with Kansas City last winter but failed to make the team out of spring training and pitched to an ugly 9.43 ERA, 1.98 WHIP and 40:26 K:BB across 42 innings with Triple-A Omaha, where he started 12 games.
